On October 9, the Exporters and Investors Club held a conference dedicated to the World Bank’s Transport Decarbonization Fund, a key event to address sustainability challenges in the transport sector. During this day, the opportunities presented by the fund to mobilize significant resources in the fight against climate change were discussed, with a particular focus on the transformation of mobility.
The Decarbonization Fund aims to mobilize more than $100 in loans for every $1 invested. With Spain’s leading participation, this fund has committed more than $6 million and seeks to reach a total of $800 million in loans aimed at driving greener and more sustainable mobility. This approach not only has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions, but also fosters innovation and economic development within the transportation sector.
During the event, we had the participation of leading experts, including Marta Valero, Director of Infrastructure and Industrial Technology at ICEX; Shokraneh Minovi, from the World Bank; and Rafael Domínguez, Deputy Assistant Director General of Multilateral Banks, IMF and G20 of the Directorate General of International Finance of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise. During the event, they shared their views on how the Decarbonization Fund can facilitate the transition to a more sustainable and efficient transport system, highlighting the importance of collaboration between governments, companies and international organizations.
With initiatives like this, the Exporters and Investors Club reaffirms its commitment to connect internationalization with sustainability, as companies that integrate these principles into their strategies will be better positioned to face the challenges of the future and be more competitive in an ever-changing global market.
