Otros encuentros organizados por el Club

10th December, 2024

The Exporters Club organized together with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Madrid and ESKZ a conference about business opportunities in Kazakhstan in the framework of the mega transport infrastructure project “Trans Caspian Transport Corridor” in which it was discussed how Kazakhstan has established itself as the leading economy in Central Asia, characterized by political stability and an attractive environment for foreign investment, and how this corridor transforms Kazakhstan into a key connectivity hub between Asia and Europe, offering safer and more resilient trade routes in a changing geopolitical environment.

The initiative, a priority for the Kazakh government, includes major investments in Caspian Sea ports and land transport networks representing an excellent opportunity for Spanish companies, especially those with expertise in sustainability and infrastructure. However, it was also noted during the event that Spanish presence in Kazakhstan remains limited, with only a few companies such as Maxam, Talgo, Inditex and Técnicas Reunidas operating in the country, reflecting a lack of knowledge of the market and underlining the need to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange information on priority areas for development in Kazakhstan.

The megaproject has also attracted the interest of the European Union, which has identified Kazakhstan as a strategic partner since through the Global Gateway program it has channeled 10 billion euros to support infrastructure development in the country. This creates important synergies between the EU, Spain and Kazakhstan, opening up opportunities for Spanish companies in key markets in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

However, to take advantage of this potential, it is essential that Spain takes a more active stance in the region, so increasing participation in forums and events related to strategic projects such as the TCTC will be essential to position Spanish companies as leaders in a dynamic market full of growth possibilities.

A more determined strategic approach by the public and private sectors will enable Spanish companies to consolidate their presence in Kazakhstan, contributing to the development of a country that is emerging as an essential logistics hub between Asia and Europe.
