Webinar about “The midterm elections impact business opportunities for Spanish companies”

As part of the activities of its working group for the United States and Canada, the Exporters & Investors Club organized an exclusive webinar for its members to analyze the impact of the recently held mid-term elections in the United States on business opportunities for Spanish companies in the country.

The U.S. mid-term elections, which are held in November every two years, in the middle of the president’s four-year term, are a crucial concept for understanding the flow of decision-making in the United States, as well as the possible evolution of the country in the coming years and its repercussions at a global level. After the elections, a new political map is opening up in the US, as a result of the new composition of Congress, the Senate and the arrival of new governors in some of the states. Given this new scenario, it is essential for Spanish companies with commercial interests in the United States to have an in-depth understanding of the economic impact that the mid-term elections could have on bilateral relations and on their businesses. Likewise, they could present new business opportunities for both internationalized Spanish companies with a presence in the U.S., as well as for those that are considering opening new opportunities in the U.S. market.

The meeting was moderated by Joaquín de la Herrán, coordinator of the U.S. and Canada working group of the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club, and included the participation of José Luis Káiser, chief economic and commercial advisor of the Commercial Office of Spain in Washington; Mikel Etxeberria, director of Business Development of IDOM in the United States and Canada; Susana Tello, director of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs of Gestamp North America; and Rafael Esteban, director of Business Development of Acciona Energy.
