The Exporters and Investors Club has held in collaboration with ICEX, and exclusively for its members, a meeting with the Chief Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in New Delhi, Lucía Paternina Torme, and with the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the same office, Gonzalo Navarro Hernández.

After some words of welcome by our host, the commercial director of Navantia, José Manuel Mondéjar, and our president, Antonio Bonet, the presentation of the chief advisor, Lucía Paternina Torme, focused on the situation of the Indian economy, the complex context of the Indian society, the bilateral relations with Spain and the existing business opportunities.

Likewise, those attending the meeting were able to learn about the great business opportunities that India presents for internationalized Spanish companies. Some of the most relevant sectors of the country are chemicals (especially medicines, since India has a large industry) and infrastructure (since one of the pending tasks of the country’s governments has been the improvement of railway and port infrastructure, etc.). At the same time, emphasis was placed on the importance of investments in the country, which offers opportunities in infrastructure (airports, railways, ports, roads and energy), renewable energies and supply chains.

Finally, a discussion was held between the Minister and the companies attending the event.
