Suardiaz Group strengthens its fleet with the acquisition of the vessel m/v Asturias, increasing its transport capacity in the Atlantic corridor.
Suardiaz Group, a member of the Exporters Club, has acquired the vessel m/v Asturias for its fleet, strengthening the Atlantic corridor and improving transport capacity for clients such as Stellantis and Toyota. This addition reflects an investment of more than US$100 million in the fleet renewal and emission reduction strategy.
Suardiaz Group, one of Spain’s leading shipping lines with a history of more than 75 years and a member of the Exporters Club, has announced the acquisition of the vessel m/v Asturias for its Suardiaz Shipping Lines fleet. This vessel, previously known as ‘Viking Amber’, will be integrated into the Atlantic corridor, linking Morocco with Northern Europe. With a cargo capacity of 4,200 CEU, the Asturias adds to the fleet renewal and emission reduction strategy that Suardiaz has been implementing for the past five years with a total investment exceeding USD 100 million.
With a presence in multiple countries, including Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Mexico and Peru, and a network of more than a dozen warehouses in various locations, the group operates as a global player in the supply chain, focused on offering comprehensive and sustainable logistics solutions.
The addition of the Asturias responds to Suardiaz Group’s commitment to offer the best service to its key customers, including automotive giants such as Stellantis, Toyota and Renault. In addition, the vessel’s ability to carry vehicles and heavy cargo strengthens the service offering for all its customers including forwarders and traders, both in Northern Europe and North Africa.
One of the outstanding features of the Asturias is its ability to offer “short sea” services to other shipping lines, thus extending its usefulness in strategic ports such as Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Bremerhaven and Southampton. This operational versatility strengthens Suardiaz Group’s position in the international maritime market, especially in the automotive industry segment.
The inclusion of the Asturias in the SUARDIAZ Shipping Lines fleet is a further step in the company’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction; this acquisition demonstrates the long-term vision of Suardiaz Group, which continues to invest in assets that not only drive its growth, but also promote sustainable and responsible practices.
Suardiaz Group’s focus on innovation and fleet expansion reinforces its commitment to environmental, social and governance sustainability.
